NOMINATIONS:
At the regular meeting in September, the President appoints a Nominating Committee of seven members of the Academy, one of whom shall be a past President, who shall submit to the Academy their nominations for the President-Elect, the First Vice President, the Second Vice President, and the Recording Secretary for the ensuing year and shall nominate a Treasurer every other year. Other nominations may be made from the floor at the Academy's annual meeting.
ELECTIONS:
The President-Elect, the First Vice President, the Second Vice President, and the Recording Secretary shall be elected each year at the annual meeting for a term of one year or until their successors have been elected and have assumed office.
The Treasurer shall be elected every other year at the annual meeting for a term of two years or until his/her successor has been elected and has assumed office.
Five members of the Board of Trustees shall be elected from the floor of the Academy at the annual meeting
One member of the Board shall be elected by the Student Medical Section at its annual meeting.
All elections shall be by voice vote and a majority of the votes cast shall elect, except the five at-large Board members who shall be elected by plurality vote. In the absence of a majority vote for the other elected positions, a ballot vote shall be taken, and on each succeeding ballot, the person or persons receiving the least number of votes in the preceding ballot shall be dropped from consideration.
