If you care passionately about medicine and the people you serve, but believe the healthcare system could use some TLC, you are not alone. In their recent article that has gone viral, Drs. Wendy Dean and Simon Talbot write, “The term ‘moral injury’ was first used to describe soldiers’ responses to their actions in war. It represents “perpetrating, failing to prevent, bearing witness to, or learning about acts that transgress deeply held moral beliefs and expectations.” … The moral injury of health care is not the offense of killing another human in the context of war. It is being unable to provide high-quality care and healing in the context of health care.”

Join us on Tuesday, April 9th at the University of Richmond Jepson Alumni Center and hear from Drs. Wendy Dean and Simon Talbot who are working to change the conversation about healthcare. This is NOT about physician burnout. It is about physicians taking care of themselves by taking care of patients.  Watch what ZDogg is saying about our speakers here!

Why not make it a date night while you're here?  Because moral injury affects the family too, we are discounting our guest fee from $40 to $20 to encourage members to bring their spouse. If your spouse is a member of RAMA, they may attend for FREE. Thanks for making this possible, RAMA!

Cocktails at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:15 p.m. and the presentation at 7:00 p.m.
