Honoring Choices Virginia Ambassador Training for ACP

Advance Care Planning is a conversation process about the care you would want in the event of a medical crisis. This ACP Ambassador training is open to anyone interested in helping promote ACP to individuals ages 18+. Ambassadors are on-the-ground advocates for ACP. They actively and enthusiastically engage those around them about ACP and offer knowledgeable support and resources for taking the next step—having the conversation.

Objectives: By the end of the training, ambassadors will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the ability to speak passionately, knowledgeably, and empathetically about ACP, and appropriately refer to other resources
  • Develop sensitive responses to various scenarios that may arise in their communities
  • Create ideas for conducting outreach about ACP within their communities
  • Distinguish between the roles and responsibilities of various members of the Honoring Choices Virginia ACP team
  • Apply the ambassador data collection process to real-life scenarios

Pre-requisite: Ambassadors are also expected to schedule a facilitated ACP conversation. Any loved ones you wish to be a part of this conversation are encouraged to attend with you. This conversation will be scheduled at the time that you register for training. 

This program is limited to the first 25 registrants. Snacks will be provided. There is no charge to participate.
