Our friend Mindy Conklin, who founded Hitting Cancer Below the Belt, recently held its fifth-annual Boxer Brief 5K to raise awareness about colonoscopies. Access Now works with her to provide early detection for colon cancer.

When Medical Care Is Truly Priceless
Access Now, the RAM-based specialty care program, was profiled by Richmond Family Magazine in its July issue. Click here to read "When Medical Care Is Truly Priceless,” which includes an interview with Dr. Michael Armstrong of Richmond ENT and Marilyn Nicol, Access Now’s program manager.

"The program has five years of success on its books, all because there was a need and local doctors were ready to provide a solution.” Access Now has 954 physician volunteers and mid-level providers who have served more than 6,900 uninsured people in need of specialty care since the program began in 2008.

VEI Partners with Access Now to Expand Cataract Mission Program

Starting November 2015 Virginia Eye Institute will expand its Annual Cataract Mission program. Virginia Eye Institute’s Cataract Mission program is an outreach program designed to help Central Virginians in need of free cataract surgery through a partnership with Access Now and Cross Over Ministries.  To date, Virginia Eye Institute’s Cataract Mission program has donated over 800 eye exams and 240 surgeries in the program’s 22 year history. Patients also get post-op follow-up at no charge.
