As the Coronavirus swept across our community, thanks to all those who helped SHOW SOME LOVE to the Healthcare Frontline Heroes! As a community, we were able to let them know they are loved and their sacrifices appreciated.

And congratulations to Dr. Carolyn Burns and Loving Lunches RVA who were recently honored by the Medical Society of Virginia, receiving MSV's 2020 Salute to Service award for Salute to Service for Healthcare During COVID-19!

About Loving Lunches RVA (LLRVA): LLRVA was created to thank and support medical and support staff involved in the diagnosis and care of patients with COVID-19 while simultaneously boosting the local food service economy, at a time this support was needed most.

We partnered with local food establishments to purchase boxed lunches and then deliver them to medical professionals on the front lines.

Thanks to our generous team of donors and partners, we raised just over $100,000 in community support, with every dollar raised directly spent on the meals delivered.

In 8 months, Loving Lunches RVA delivered over 16,500 meals to 27 hospitals, community clinics and nursing homes, ensuring staff on all three shifts felt the love.

In recognition of its impact, the project received the Medical Society of Virginia’s 2020 Salute To Service Award during the COVID Pandemic.
