Thursday, May 11, 2017
RAM President Harry D. Bear, MD, PhD, presented a fact-filled, upbeat and downright IMPRESSIVE report on the many activities of YOUR growing Academy. To read click here!
"The Richmond Academy of Medicine is very fortunate in that we seem to buck the trend of decline that is threatening similar local medical societies across the country," Dr. Bear told more than 200 RAM members and their spouses/significant others at May 9th's hugely successful General Membership meeting. "RAM is growing and indeed flourishing. Why? First, it starts with YOU, our members and all you do and bring to our work. You are active and involved at all levels of what we do. We are fortunate to have YOU as part of US. I applaud and thank you for all you do."
Read more about "all that we collectively do," from things you might not have heard about it (such as the recent perfect national certification score of 100 earned by our Centralized Credentials Verification Service) to the nearly $4 million in services that YOU provided through Access Now last year to nearly 2,500 patients, to the ongoing work of Honoring Choices Virginia, which now has 37 active clinical sites and more than 170 trained facilitators with our partners Bon Secours, HCA Virginia and VCU Health.
"Did you know that our Services Corporation actually manages and administers EIGHT other specialty medical societies and PACs?" Dr. Bear asked. These include the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, the Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Virginia Surgical Society, the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Radiology, the Virginia Society of Otolaryngology, the Virginia Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Richmond Medical Group Managers Association."
The list of services, upcoming events and family-filled opportunities just keeps growing!
